Pedestrian dies, man arrested after hit-and-run collision in Rialto

A pedestrian was killed Sunday, Nov. 18, when he was struck by a vehicle in Rialto, and a man who police say was the driver was arrested two days later on suspicion of felony hit and run.

Michael Nagy, 23, of Bloomington, died at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton at 8:47 p.m. Sunday, about a half-hour after he was hit at Bloomington and San Bernardino avenues, the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office said.

Tuesday, police arrested John Michael English, 22, of Rialto. English was booked, and released Wednesday after posting bail.
