A 17-year-old boy was sent to the hospital with major injuries on Tuesday afternoon after he was ejected from his vehicle during a rollover crash.
The California Highway Patrol said the Menifee resident was driving east on Holland Road, just east of Briggs Road in an unincorporated area of Riverside County southeast of Menifee at around 3:00 p.m. when the crash happened.
The person was driving a 1997 Ford Explorer on a dirt road when it drifted off the north edge of the roadway and the driver turned to the right to try and correct course, which caused a crash in which the Explorer rolled over several times, according to the CHP.
“The 17-year-old was not wearing his seat belt and was ejected from the Ford Explorer,” the CHP said “He was transported to the Inland Valley Hospital with major head trauma and other injuries.”
CHP Temecula officers are investigating the crash.
