Man killed in crash 450 feet below Angeles Crest Highway near Wrightwood is identified

BIG PINES — A man killed when a vehicle in which he was an occupant went about 450 feet over the side of the Angeles Crest Highway in the San Gabriel Mountains near Wrightwood was publicly identified Monday.

Aleksandr Kuzminskii was 36 years old, the coroner’s office said. His city of residence was not available.

The crash was reported at 1:11 p.m. Saturday near Mile Marker 70.60 of the Angeles Crest Highway near the Dawson Saddle area, the California Highway Patrol said.

The road was closed from Islip Saddle to Vincent Gulch for the investigation, said Caltrans.

Kuzminskii, who was found inside the vehicle, was pronounced dead by paramedics, the CHP said, adding that an injured woman was found on the right shoulder of the road.
