19-year-old critically injured in 91 Freeway collision in Riverside

A 19-year-old woman was critically injured in a traffic collision in Riverside on Monday night, Jan. 7, the Riverside Fire Department said.

The crash was reported just before 8 p.m. on the eastbound 91 Freeway east of Tyler Street. The three-vehicle collision blocked all lanes and forced firefighters to haul their equipment in about 100 yards. Other responders had to drive the wrong way on the Van Buren Boulevard offramp to reach the scene, a news release said.

A second victim, a man about 19 years old, suffered minor injuries, A third victim was treated at the scene and released.

Eastbound traffic was stopped for almost an hour, the Fire Department said.
