A 22-year-old man died and two others were injured early Saturday, Feb. 16, in a crash on the 10 Freeway in Redlands.

The driver, Marcus Cobain of Fontana, was pronounced dead at the scene about 20 minutes after the crash, the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office said.

Just before 2 a.m., Cobain was headed west behind the wheel of a Nissan Sentra at an unknown speed, the California Highway Patrol said in a news release. The car hit a metal guardrail between Orange Street and the 210 Freeway, continued on and struck a steel street sign post.

Two passengers from Fontana, ages 22 and 21, were partially ejected. They were hospitalized at Loma Linda University Medical Center, one in extremely critical condition and the other with moderate injuries, the Redlands Fire Department said in a release.

The CHP asks anyone with information on the crash to call Officer U. Gonzalez at 909-383-4247.
