A two-vehicle crash in Pomona left three people injured and a child dead on Tuesday afternoon. Driving under the influence by both drivers was suspected, police said.
Pomona Police said the crash happened when a vehicle heading north on White Avenue near the Fairplex crossed the center divider and crashed into another vehicle heading south at around 4:25 p.m. A Pomona police officer witnessed the head-on crash.

“A child was located in the rear seat of one of the involved vehicles. Los Angeles County Fire Department pronounced the child deceased upon their arrival. Both involved drivers are suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol. The investigation is on-going,” police said in a statement.
The child was identified as Julian Anthony George, a 6-year-old Upland boy, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office and police.
