A motorcyclist died Saturday after colliding with a tractor-trailer in Perris on the 215 Freeway, temporarily forcing a closure of southbound lanes, authorities said.
Aaron Barton, 28, of Murrieta was pronounced dead at the scene, the Riverside County Coroner’s office said Sunday.
The crash took place on the southbound lanes of the 215 Freeway near Ethanac Road at 7:55 p.m., said Tawny Cabral, spokeswoman with Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department. The driver of the tractor-trailer refused medical treatment.
The collision for a time blocked all of the southbound lanes of the 215 Freeway north of Highway 74, Caltrans said on social media.
Lanes re-opened by 10:37 p.m., Caltrans said.
Final Update: Collision cleared. All lanes open. Moderate congestion through the area. To avoid delays use alternative route. #Caltrans8https://t.co/jpKlNibAJ4
