Motorcyclist killed in Friday crash identified as San Jacinto man, 27

SAN JACINTO — A motorcyclist killed in a collision near a San Jacinto intersection was publicly identified Saturday as a San Jacinto resident.

Jeffrey Woods was 27 years old, the Riverside County coroner’s office said.

The crash was reported at 5:05 p.m. Friday on San Jacinto Avenue, just south of Commonwealth Avenue, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Bryan De Loss said.

Witness statements and evidence indicated Woods was riding northbound on San Jacinto Avenue at a high rate of speed and the driver of a burgundy Toyota Camry was southbound making a left turn into a driveway when the motorcycle broadsided the vehicle, De Loss said.

Paramedics reached the location within a few minutes of the incident and found the rider in the middle of the roadway in full cardiac arrest, the Riverside County Fire Department said .

Efforts to revive the victim failed, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.

The driver of the car involved in the wreck was taken to a trauma center in stable condition with moderate injuries, fire officials said.
