Two brothers died Sunday night in a single-car crash at a San Bernardino intersection, and police said Monday that speed and alcohol were factors.
Felipe Alonso Villalobos Barba, 36 of Loma Linda and Oscar Villalobos, 26, of San Bernardino died at the scene of the 9:28 p.m. crash at Tippecanoe Avenue near Harry Shepard Boulevard, police said in a statement.
The San Bernardino County Coroner’s office said Villalobos Barba was the driver and Villalobos the passenger in the right-front seat of the Kia Forte, and identified the men as brothers .
Police said the car was heading northbound, fast, on Tippecanoe when Villalobos Barba lost control of the car and veered into a center median, hitting a palm tree. No other vehicles were involved.
The crash remained under investigation Monday.
