Two Riverside police officers were among seven people injured in a traffic collision Thursday night, Aug. 27, that resulted in the arrest of a man on suspicion of driving under the influence.
Alfredo A. Morales, 36, of Ontario, faces charges of felony DUI causing injury and two misdemeanor DUI counts, county jail records show. Morales was released Friday after posting $50,000 bail.
The crash happened at about 8 p.m. Two officers were responding to a call when a pickup driver identified as Morales failed to stop for a red light at the intersection of La Sierra and Campbell avenues, a police news release said.
Morales’ vehicle collided with a van, which then struck the patrol car, the release said.
The officers, a woman and three children in the van and Morales were all treated for minor injuries, police said.
