4 dead in San Jacinto crash

Four people, including two children, died in a multi-car collision in San Jacinto on Thursday evening, Feb. 11, authorities said.

The crash involving five cars occurred around 8:17 p.m. at E. 7th Street and Ramona Expressway, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said. Three people were pronounced dead at the scene and one died at a hospital. Two other people had minor injuries.

Three of the dead were in a Kia Optima. The fourth was in a Nissan Armada.

The Coroner’s Office identified them Saturday as Aolani Ramirez-Muniz, 11, of Eastvale, who died at Riverside University Health System Medical Center; Elizabeth Muniz, 37, of Hemet; Aileen Sotelo, 16, of Hemet; and Michal Tostado, 31, of Hemet.

Fire departments from Hemet and Soboba assisted.

The Sheriff’s Department is investigating the collision and had not announced a cause or identified the victims as of Friday afternoon.
