A Moreno Valley man was found shot to death Thursday, May 6, as authorities investigated a traffic collision in Rancho Cucamonga.
The three-car crash was reported just before 6:30 p.m in the 10800 block of Church Street, west of the 15 Freeway. Corey Deshawn Cooper, 39, was pronounced dead at the scene, and deputies and medics discovered gunshot wounds.
Detectives determined that Cooper had been shot nearby, causing him to veer into oncoming traffic and collide with two other vehicles before coming to rest, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said.
The other drivers were not reported injured.
Investigators asked anyone with information on the shooting to call Detective Nicolas Craig at 909-387-3589 or to leave information anonymously with WeTip at 800-782-7463 or wetip.com.
