The driver of a box died Tuesday, Oct. 19, after crashing into the rear of a semi-truck on the 60 Freeway in Eastvale, the California Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened around 12:45 p.m. in the westbound lanes of the 60 Freeway east of Milliken Avenue, the CHP said in a press release. A semi-truck hauling a trailer was stopped in traffic when the box truck travelling behind it was unable to come to a stop or slow down before colliding with the back of the trailer, authorities said.
The force of the impact inflicted fatal injuries on the driver of the box truck, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The box truck driver’s identity was not immediately available.
Any witnesses who may have seen the incident are encouraged to call the CHP at 951-637-8000.
