A 31-year-old Lake Elsinore man was killed early Wednesday, Nov. 17, when his car crashed off of the I-15 Freeway, with witnesses reporting he had been driving faster than 100 mph, authorities said.
Kenneth Donnell Thomas was in a 2003 Honda Accord in the northbound left lane just after midnight when he veered across the lanes and down an embankment near Clinton Keith Road, the California Highway Patrol said.
Thomas, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the car as it rolled over several times, the CHP said.
“The CHP would like to encourage the motoring public to buckle up,” said Officer Mike Lassig, a CHP spokesman. “Seat belts can save lives and prevent injuries.”
