A Jurupa Valley man riding his bicycle died after a car collided into him on Tuesday, Dec. 21, in Jurupa Valley, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said.
The collision happened at about 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of Mission Boulevard and Tyrolite Street, the Sheriff’s Department said. Responding emergency personnel found a small sedan and the bicyclist involved in a crash, authorities said.
The bicyclist was found to have major injuries and despite Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department personnel attempting life-saving measures, the man was pronounced dead, the Sheriff’s Department said. The bicyclist was identified as 45-year-old Jason Navoy, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
A preliminary investigation determined that both Navoy and the sedan were headed east on Mission towards Tyrolite when the sedan collided with Navoy, authorities said.
The driver of the sedan was not injured in the incident and remained at the scene to cooperate with the investigation, the Sheriff’s Department said.
Anyone with information about the incident was encouraged to call Deputy Stephen Linfoot with the Sheriff’s Department at 951-955-2600.
