Motorcyclist dies in Lake Elsinore collision

A motorcyclist died and another person was hospitalized after a collision involving another vehicle in Lake Elsinore on Sunday night, Feb. 6, authorities said.

The motorcyclist was traveling west on Grand Avenue when he ran a red light and collided with a vehicle at McVicker Canyon Park Road just before 7 p.m., according to the preliminary investigation by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies arrived and found the motorcyclist down in the roadway with major injuries. The man, identified by the Coroner’s Office as 38-year-old Ryan Rice of Lake Elsinore, died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle, a man believed to be 25, was hospitalized for evaluation.
