Road rage may have led to a weekend shooting of a driver who suffered minor injuries on the 10 Freeway in Montclair, authorities said Monday, Feb. 7.

The victim was shot in the back, California Highway Patrol Officer Stephen Rawls said, on the westbound 10 between Central Avenue and Monte Vista Avenue around 8:20 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 5.

The victim told officers he may have cut off another vehicle, Rawls said, adding that the suspect was driving a dark-colored Toyota or Honda sport-utility vehicle.

The victim got off of the freeway at Indian Hill Boulevard in Claremont and called 911. Firefighters took him to a hospital.
