One Dead in Solo Vehicle Crash on NB SR-99 in South Sac Area

One person died early Tuesday morning in a solo vehicle crash on northbound State Route 99 at the Mingo Road off-ramp in south Sacramento.

According to California Highway Patrol dispatch logs, the fatality was reported at 3:59 a.m. A CHP unit at the scene reported it appeared to be a serious injury crash involving a single vehicle and requested a tow truck. Dispatch notified a rotation tow service at 4:01 a.m.

A CHP unit requested an evidence tow at 4:33 a.m. Dispatch notified the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office at 4:56 a.m. A body transport service was notified at 5:14 a.m. with an estimated arrival time of 20 minutes.

CHP units arrived at the scene starting at 3:59 a.m. and cleared the area by 7:32 a.m. A CHP unit followed the tow truck to a yard at 5:30 a.m.

The identities of those involved and the cause of the crash were not immediately available.
