A mother and her infant child will collect $9.8 million, because their attorney, Rafii & Associates P.C., uncovered their injuries were caused by improperly secured cargo.
The infant child was thrown from her mother’s lap, when the large passenger bus they were riding in flipped on its side. The bus slid down an embankment off the side of the 10 Freeway in Sothern California, before coming to a rest.
Moments earlier, a tractor trailer carrying steel pipes had spilled its cargo across both directions of the 10 Freeway. The bus, which was carrying passengers from out of state, rolled violently when the driver swerved to avoid the flying pipes.
In the accident’s aftermath, a California-based law firm that specializes in representing victims of commercial-auto crashes, Rafii & Associates, was called in by the mother.
The legal team at Rafii & Associates uncovered the crash was caused by pipes that had been tied down. The revelation and negotiating tactics employed by the legal minds at Rafii & Associates led to a $9.8 million verdict.
The multi-million payout will help fund health care costs, education and other expenses for the two victims for years to come.
