A solo vehicle crash early Saturday, Dec. 17, in Corona fatally injured a car’s driver and his passenger.
Police and fire crews were called at 12:08 a.m. to the collision near East Ontario and Magnolia avenues and found a 2017 Ford Mustang had crashed into a tree. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to remove the two occupants from the significantly damaged vehicle.
Driver Austin Hornung, 25, and the passenger Robert Dissmore, 22, were transported to Riverside Community Hospital. Both Corona residents died as a result of their injuries, according to a Monday news release issued by the Corona Police Department.
The cause of the crash was under investigation. Police had not yet determined if drugs or alcohol were involved.
Anyone with additional information regarding the collision or information about the car just prior to the collision was asked to contact the Corona Police Department Traffic Bureau, Officer Johnathan Drylie, at (951) 557-4995 or email Johnathan.Drylie@coronaca.gov
