On Thursday, September 29, 2022, deputies from the Moreno Valley Station responded to the intersection of Indian Street and Alessandro Boulevard in Moreno Valley to investigate a report of domestic violence. The investigation revealed an adult male suspect, identified as Daniel Esqueda, assaulted his girlfriend while in the presence of their small child and then fled from the scene.
A few minutes later, deputies located Esqueda’s vehicle at a residence in the 2300 block of New England Drive. As deputies arrived, they saw Esqueda walking toward the residence and out of sight. Deputies surrounded the house and called for Esqueda to come out, but he did not comply. Esqueda remained hidden on the property, causing a search warrant to be authored. The SWAT team arrived to serve the warrant and located Esqueda hiding in a shed on the property. After some negotiations, Esqueda surrendered peacefully and was taken into custody without incident.
Esqueda was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on charges of Domestic Violence, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Resisting a Peace Officer, Child Endangerment, Violating the Terms of his Probation, and an outstanding Felony Warrant.
