Corning man is killed; teen hurt in collision

CORNING – A motorcycle and pedestrian collided Saturday morning in Corning, resulting in the death of a Corning man and injuring a teenage boy.

According to a Corning Police Department press release, officers were summoned to the 600 block North Street at 11:30 am Saturday for a collision that involved a pedestrian.

According to the release, Dennis Wayne Nickell (71), was later identified as the motorcyclist who died on the spot. A 17-year old boy was injured and taken to the local hospital.

The teen sustained a fractured ankle and cuts on his head.
