Moreno Valley, California-The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department-Moreno Valley Station held a one-day public service event, “Ride to Live”, on May 14, 2022, at the Moreno Valley Mall. This event was open to the public and a total of 17 riders participated. This event assisted the riders with becoming a more informed and capable rider. This event was led by the Moreno Valley Motor Team, which taught proper manipulation of clutch and throttle in order to work the “friction zone”, proper use of head and eyes when turning a motorcycle, counter balance to perform slow tight turns and low speed precision maneuvering.
The rider’s years of riding experience ranged from a few months to 40+ years. After the event, all riders indicated they had learned skills that would benefit them while riding and/or avoiding collisions.
The Moreno Valley Motor Team will be conducting another “Ride to Live” event on the following date:
Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 8:00 am
This event will be held at the Moreno Valley Mall. If you would like to register, the requirements and how to register are as follows:
Requirements:
- Have a valid M-1 (motorcycle) license and insurance
- Have basic riding skills (this class is not for those who have no riding experience)
- Bring your own motorcycle, D.O.T. helmet, gloves, eye protection and footwear that covers the ankles
- Sign a liability waiver (provided at training)
- Have a desire to improve skills
