1 dead, 1 injured in head-on crash west of Aguanga

AGUANGA — One person is dead and another person is injured after two vehicles collided head-on near Aguanga on Tuesday, Nov. 23.

The Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department received a report of the crash at 5:29 a.m. in the area of Highway 79 and Sage Road.

Emergency responders found one person dead and another in need of helicopter transport to a hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

The driver who perished was identified as 73-year-old David Land of Anza, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.

The cause of the crash was under investigation by California Highway Patrol officers.
