San Bernardino police are investigating the beating and robbery of a Lyft driver — an attack he said followed an argument with two customers.
The assault happened on Oct. 2, Lt. Michele Mahan said. Police received the report just before 8 p.m. that day and responded to find the driver sitting on a curb, bleeding heavily from his head and right eye.
The driver picked up a man and woman in the area of 2nd and F streets. They began arguing, so the driver ordered them out of his car before the trip began. They got out, as did the driver, who called police, Mahan said. While the driver was on the phone, the male customer stole the phone and other property. The two customers then slugged the driver and fled, Mahan said.
The driver was treated at a hospital. No arrests had been announced.
