A 16-year-old Perris boy died days after sustaining major injuries as the passenger of an off-road vehicle that was in a crash with a Toyota Camry in May, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said.
Durpree Battiest died from his May 23 injuries on Friday, May 28, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.
On May 23, deputies responded to a major crash between a Polaris RZR and a Toyota near the intersection of Bradley Road and Rider Street in Perris at about 12:34 p.m.
The driver and passenger of the Polaris suffered major injuries and life-saving measures were attempted before both were transported to a local hospital, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
No information regarding the condition of the Polaris’ driver or the cause of the crash was immediately available.
