Menifee man, 20, killed in solo car crash in Perris on 215 Freeway

A 20-year-old Menifee man died in a solo car crash in Perris on Friday night, May 28, on the 215 Freeway, the California Highway Patrol said.

At about 9:12 p.m., the CHP responded to a crash southbound on the 215 Freeway, south of D Street. CHP units discovered a crash involving a Nissan with fatal injuries, according to the CHP.

The driver of the Nissan was identified as Ajanni Cabrera, according to the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.

An investigation revealed Cabrera was allegedly travelling at a high rate of speed at the time of the crash and, for reasons still under investigation, allowed his car to veer across all lanes, the CHP said. The Nissan then left the freeway and collided with the right shoulder wall, then went back to the left, crossed all lanes again, and collided with the concrete center divider wall to the left.

Cabrera was ejected during the impacts and suffered blunt force trauma, according to the CHP.
