Motorcyclist dies in crash on 91 Freeway in Riverside

A motorcyclist died Wednesday morning, April 21, when she crashed and was thrown from her bike on the 91 Freeway in Riverside, the California Highway Patrol said.

The rider was Yolanda Castillo, 50, of Riverside, the Riverside County Coroner’s Office said.

The crash happened just after 5 a.m. in the westbound lanes, west of Pierce Street. The motorcycle appeared to have been the only vehicle involved, the CHP said.

The crash caused a long backup in the westbound lanes during the morning commute.

The CHP asks anyone who witnessed the crash to call it at 951-637-8000.
