A Riverside woman riding Tuesday as a passenger in a car allegedly stabbed the driver in the head and face on the 91 Freeway, and later was arrested, the California Highway Patrol said.
Kimberly A. Cain, 50, was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after fleeing on foot on the 91 Freeway. She was found hiding near the freeway, according to the CHP.
At about 12:39 p.m., the CHP responded to a call of highway violence eastbound on the freeway west of Central Avenue. Officers encountered a woman who had been stabbed several times.
The preliminary investigation revealed Cain was the passenger in the victim’s vehicle and allegedly assaulted the driver. After the driver pulled her vehicle over, Cain fled on foot.
The victim was treated on scene by the Riverside Fire Department and was transported to a local hospital.
