GLENDORA — Two people were critically injured Monday evening in a multi-vehicle crash in the Glendora area that occurred at the end of a police pursuit of an allegedly stolen car.

At least five vehicles were involved in the crash, which occurred around 6 p.m. at Arrow Highway and Barranca Avenue.

The two critically injured people were both suspects of a stolen vehicle and were reportedly in stable condition later Monday evening, according to Sgt. Jason Poulos, spokesman for the Azusa Police Department. The driver in the incident was also suspected to be intoxicated, according to Poulos.

No identifying information for either suspect was immediately available.

The chase began at about 5:38 p.m. at Foothill Boulevard and San Gabriel Avenue in Azusa, Poulos said.

A third person was transported to the hospital with minor injuries, Poulos reported. No officers were injured in the pursuit or crash.
