Update: Caltrans said the northbound 15 had reopened by 5:17 p.m.
Earlier coverage:
A collision between two big rigs Wednesday morning, Feb. 10, spilled yogurt on the 15 Freeway north of Barstow and is forcing motorists headed toward Las Vegas to take alternate routes.
The crash was reported at 3:42 a.m. near Alvord Mountain Road. One of the tractor-trailers was in a ditch, according to the California Highway Patrol log.
Traffic was being taken off the freeway at Harvard Road. Caltrans suggested that motorists use the 40 Freeway or Highway 395 instead.
“Will need skip loader and clean up crew. Yogurt all over roadway,” the CHP log says.
There was no estimate on when the lanes would reopen.
There was no immediate word on whether anyone was injured.
