An 18-year-old driver died on Saturday night in Riverside after crashing while exiting the 91 Freeway in a collision that also left two passengers injured.
The single-vehicle crash was reported shortly before midnight near the Arlington and Riverside avenues intersection, according to a Riverside Police Department statement.
Traffic investigators believe an 18-year-old Orange County resident driving a white 2005 Ford F-150 pickup somehow lost control while exiting the westbound 91 at Arlington.
The truck went off the roadway and collided with a tree. The driver, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two female passengers were taken to a hospital with what police described as “moderate to major” injuries.
Investigators don’t yet know whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
