Four people, including three children, were hospitalized Tuesday, Jan. 19, after a head-on crash involving three cars on Gilman Springs Road.

The one adult was seriously injured in the 6:59 a.m. crash near Alessandro Boulevard, according to Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

One of the children had to be cut out of a car.

But the children’s injuries could have been worse.

“Three children are OK due to the proper use and installation of car seats. #BuckleUp” the California Highway Patrol said in a Twitter message.

This was the second head-on collision in two days on Gilman Springs Road, which runs between Moreno Valley and San Jacinto and is notorious for deadly, violent collisions.

Monday, the collision happened east of Highway 79.
