A Redlands man was arrested on suspicion of DUI after allegedly driving into an occupied residence and colliding into a vehicle and a block wall, the Redlands Police Department reported.
The 59-year-old man was arrested in the 600 block of Sunnyside Avenue, the Police Department said.
On Sunday, Jan. 10, the man allegedly drove his Dodge truck into a vehicle parked in the 900 block of West Fern Avenue and then drove into an occupied residence next door before fleeing. No injuries were reported in that crash. He was then reported by several people in the 1500 block of Bellevue Road, repeatedly colliding into a block wall, the Police Department said.
A San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s air support unit and Redlands Police Department officers responded to the area and located the vehicle with significant damage traveling east on Terracina Boulevard, Redlands PD reported. The driver came to a stop in the street in front of his residence in the 600 block of Sunnyside Avenue and officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop.
The man refused to follow officers’ commands and repeatedly drove his vehicle in reverse towards officers and their units before maneuvering his vehicle up his driveway, the Police Department said. He was detained and determined to be under the influence of alcohol, Redlands PD reported.
