Police are looking for the driver of a white pickup truck suspected of striking and killing a motorcyclist in Pomona Sunday night, Dec. 20, and then fleeing.
The coroner’s office had not yet identified the motorcyclist.
An officer saw a motorcycle and its rider on Garey Avenue at Pearl Street just after 8 p.m., a police statement said. The man was taken to a local hospital, where he died.
A pickup turned left in front of the motorcyclist who was heading north on Garey, Sgt. Alyssa Bostrom said.
The still-unidentified suspect drove a white Chevrolet Avalanche, possibly a 2002 model, she said, adding that the pickup suffered significant damage to the passenger-side area.
Police asked that anyone with information about the collision to call them at 909-622-1241. Anonymous tipsters can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
