A driver and his passenger died Monday, Dec. 14, after their car hit a tree in San Bernardino.
Authorities have not yet identified the two but police said the driver was a 20-year-old San Bernardino man and his passenger a 36-year-old Rialto man.
Police believe a 2004 Nissan Maxima was speeding north on Tippecanoe Avenue, approaching Harry Shepard Boulevard, at 12:19 a.m. when the driver lost control and hit a tree in the center median, Sgt. John Echevarria said.
He said the driver and the passenger died at the scene.
Police don’t know yet how fast the car was traveling before the crash.
