A 27-year-old man was arrested Saturday evening following a crash that killed a 38-year-old Redlands motorcyclist.
Andrew Justin Vasquez of Redlands was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and vehicular homicide, the Redlands Police Department said Sunday, Nov. 22.
At about 6:30 p.m. Saturday, a motorcyclist was traveling north in the 400 block of Judson Street, south of Laramie Avenue. The driver of a 2012 Nissan Altima pulled away from the curb and made a U-turn in front of the motorcycle and the motorcyclist went down and was trapped under the vehicle, the Police Department said.
Eric Figueroa was identified as the motorcyclist who died in the incident, the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office reported. Redlands firefighters and paramedics responded and treated Figueroa at the scene. He was transported to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, the Coroner’s Office said.
Vasquez on Sunday was being held on $250,000 bail.
