A Pomona resident was killed and a driver was arrested after a car crashed into a house Thursday night, Sept. 17, the Pomona Police Department said.
The crash happened at about 9:20 p.m. near the intersection of Hamilton Boulevard and Colony Drive. The driver was headed south on Hamilton “at a high rate of speed” when he crashed into the house, a news release said.
Images from the scene showed all but the rear bumper of the car inside the house. The resident, a woman, died at the scene, police said.
Carmelino Oliver Martinez Ordonez, 33, of Pomona, was hospitalized before being arrested Friday on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, felony driving under the influence causing injury and driving without a license, Lt. Brian Hagerty said.
The woman’s name was not immediately announced. She was 59 years old, police said.
