Alcohol or drugs are thought to be a factor in a crash that killed two people, including an 8-year-old child, in Perris, authorities said Tuesday.
The three-vehicle crash occurred about 10 p.m. Monday at Ramona Expressway and Perris Boulevard, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
According to sheriff’s officials, a Mercedes drove through a red light and hit a Dodge Durango making a turn. The Durango then struck a Honda Accord.
Two people inside the Durango — a 75 year-old women and an 8-year-old girl — were pronounced dead at the scene. An unknown number of other motorists suffered minor injuries and were taken to an area hospital.
Sheriff’s officials asked that any witness call them at 951-210-1068.
