A 14-year-old girl died and a woman was sent to the hospital after a crash in Montclair on Sunday evening.
The crash happened at around 5:40 p.m. near the 8800 block of Monte Vista Avenue, according to the Montclair Police Department.
Police said an SUV traveled over the center median at Monte Vista Avenue and started heading south in northbound lanes of traffic. The SUV then crashed into a sedan.
A 51-year-old woman in the sedan was sent to a local hospital with minor injuries, while a 14-year-old girl, a passenger in the SUV, was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
The driver of the SUV and the four passengers in the vehicle had moderate injuries and were transported to various hospitals, police said.
The Montclair Police Department is investigating the crash and asked anyone with information to contact it at 909-621-4771.
