A driver of a vehicle that had been involved in a crash in Jurupa Valley failed to stop and render aid to a bicyclist who was seriously injured and then died at a hospital five days later on Tuesday, June 16.
Authorities were dispatched at about 10:43 p.m. Thursday, June 11, after receiving reports of a collision involving a car and a bicycle along the 9400 block of Mission Boulevard, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Officials said in a news release. Responding deputies encountered a man on the north side of the street “suffering from major injuries.”
He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead Tuesday, sheriff’s officials said. His identity was not immediately made public.
Investigators believe the victim was struck by a white 2012-2018 Ford Focus sedan that continued west on Mission Boulevard, sheriff’s officials said. The car should be missing its passenger side mirror.
