Nuevo man dies in two-vehicle crash

NUEVO — The Riverside County Coroner’s Office on Sunday publicly identified a 53-year-old man killed in a two-vehicle crash that also injured two others in the unincorporated Nuevo area near Perris.

It happened at 12:25 a.m. Saturday on Nuevo Road at Pico Avenue and caused one of the vehicles, with two people inside, to overturn, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Johnny Aikens of Nuevo was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other people were taken to a hospital, one in serious condition, one with moderate injuries, the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department reported.

Details of the crash were not immediately disclosed.
