Redlands firefighters on Saturday, June 6, removed from the wreckage the bodies of the three people who were killed Friday in the crash of a Cessna.

The U.S. Forest Service, Redlands police, the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office and a San Bernardino County sheriff’s helicopter crew assisted, according to a post on the Instagram account of the Redlands Professional Firefighters Association.

The Coroner’s Office had not announced the names of the victims as of Saturday evening.

The crash of the single-engine plane was reported at about 4 p.m. on a ridgeline above 3055 Mill Creek Road, also known as Highway 38, east of Mentone.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash. No one survived.

A photo of the crash scene shows the plane largely intact, but obviously damaged. There did not appear to have been a fire.
