JURUPA VALLEY — A 25-year-old motorist accused of running over and fatally injuring a pedestrian while driving drunk was arrested Monday, May 18, on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and DUI, authorities said.
Keyshawn Latrell Henderson of Moreno Valley was booked at the Riverside jail on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence of alcohol causing death in connection with the early-morning collision that killed Travis Green, 29, of Jurupa Valley, according to Riverside County sheriff’s Sgt. Luke Torres.
According to Torres, the crash was reported about 2:15 a.m. Monday on Mission Boulevard east of Jurupa Road in Jurupa Valley.
Henderson struck Green in the roadway and continued driving for another 300 yards before coming to a stop near the intersection of Rathke Drive and Golden West Avenue, the sergeant alleged.
Green was found beneath the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Henderson and his passenger were uninjured.
Deputies reported finding an open container of alcohol in the vehicle following the crash, according to Torres, who said Henderson failed a field sobriety test.
Henderson, who does not have any documented felony convictions in Riverside County, is expected to be arraigned at the Riverside Hall of Justice on Wednesday, jail records show.
