Temecula woman dies after two-vehicle crash

TEMECULA — The Riverside County coroner’s office Sunday publicly identified a 50-year-old woman who died in a two-vehicle crash in Temecula that also injured four others.

The crash was reported just before 5 p.m. Saturday at Calle Contento and Madera De Playa Drive, according to the Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department.

Two people became trapped in the wreckage and were freed by firefighters before being taken to a hospital; one with serious injuries and the other with moderate injuries, fire officials said.

Two others were hospitalized with minor injuries while a fifth person was treated by paramedics but declined further treatment.

Michelle Jeffers of Temecula, who was among the injured, was pronounced dead Friday night at Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, according to the coroner’s office.

The crash was under investigation.
