BLYTHE — Coroner’s officials Saturday publicly identified a 58-year-old man who died in a crash on Interstate 10 in Blythe.
The solo-vehicle crash occurred at 8:08 p.m. Friday on the westbound side of the freeway about half a mile west of Neighbours Boulevard, according to the Riverside County coroner’s office.
A witness told the California Highway Patrol that the vehicle was speeding before driving off the side of the freeway, ending up about 150 feet off the roadway.
Roberto Velasquez of Colton, was pronounced dead at the scene.
It was unclear if there was anyone else in the vehicle.
