Rancho Cucamonga woman dies in single-car crash

A Rancho Cucamonga woman died and her son was hospitalized after a single-car crash in the city Wednesday evening, sheriff’s deputies said.

Lucy Uruena, 83, died in a hospital from her injuries.

Her son, Jaime Uruena, 62, also a Rancho Cucamonga resident, was driving a 2003 Honda Accord when it struck a light pole at the northeast corner of Haven Avenue and Jersey Boulevard at 7:14 p.m., San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies said.

His condition was not publicly released.
