A 29-year-old Riverside resident died Tuesday night, March 10, after her motorcycle collided with an SUV on the 215 Freeway near March Air Reserve Base.
Claudia Lucrey was pronounced dead at 9:40 p.m., about 15 minutes after the collision north of Cactus Avenue, the Riverside County Coroner’s Office said.
The crash was reported about 9:30 p.m. by the driver of a Toyota Highlander who told authorities he thought he had hit a motorcycle, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Lucrey was thrown from her motorcycle and landed in lanes of traffic, the CHP said.
Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department paramedics responded and declared her dead at the scene.
All northbound lanes of the freeway near Alessandro Boulevard were closed about 9:45 p.m. and reopened at 11:10 p.m., the CHP said. The cause of the crash was not immediately announced.
