A 37-year-old Norco man was arrested after leading police on a pursuit through Pomona and allegedly ramming at least two police vehicles to try and avoid capture early Friday morning, March 6, authorities said.

Raul Salas was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence, assault on a peace officer and felony evading after he drove through a carwash and into a dead-end, Pomona Sgt. M. Medellin said.

Police officers were in the area of Holt Avenue and Currier Street just before 12:40 a.m. when they saw a speeding vehicle, Medellin said.

Officers pulled the vehicle over.

However, as officers got out of their police car, the suspect allegedly rammed it before speeding off, leading police on a pursuit in which he drove recklessly, Medellin said.

Before being taken into custody near the dead-end, Salas was accused of ramming another police car, Medellin said.

No injuries were reported.
