A Fontana woman was killed and three other people were injured in a crash in Rancho Cucamonga on Sunday after a car ran a red light, authorities said.
The crash happened at the intersection of Etiwanda Avenue and Valley Boulevard at around 10:20 a.m., the California Highway Patrol said. One vehicle, a 2017 Ford, was heading north on Etiwanda Avenue while the other, a 2003 Toyota, was traveling east on Valley Boulevard.
The vehicle heading north on Etiwanda ran a red light and crashed into the right side of the vehicle traveling through a green light east on Valley Boulevard, officials said.
The passenger in the Toyota, a 75-year-old woman, was transported to Kaiser Hospital in Fontana, where she was pronounced dead just before 11:15 a.m. She was identified as Mary Ann Price.
The driver of the Toyota and the passenger in the Ford were transported to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center – one with minor and another with moderate injuries. The driver of the Ford had minor injuries, but wasn’t taken to a hospital, according to the CHP.
No one was arrested.
